Springfield Life from Stone

Flinty, mineral character true to the quartz rock in which it is grown. Monumental human effort was required to plant the vines – implements destroyed, and, in the case of the older vineyards, dynamite deployed. A true expression of the site’s terroir, this wine will drink well now, or can be enjoyed in the next 2-3 years.

Pairs with

Creamy dishes, white fish and risotto. as well as light truffle and blue cheese flavours.

Babylonstoren Chardonnay

Burgundy-style Chardonnay with a fresh, fine-grained nose of quince, lime and vanilla as well as a hint of nuts.

Classy, sleek structure with subtle citrus fruit softened with textured creaminess, vanilla and nutty complexity. Tangy mineral tones with fine intensity and balance; good focus and length with a refreshing finish.

Enjoy with fresh seafood as well as chicken and pasta dishes, vegetables and fresh summer salads.

Nederburg The Young Airhawk

Clear, light green. Layers of gooseberry, green fig, lemon zest and minerality very well integrated with wood. Fresh, crisp and zesty with a creamy texture.

Roasts, barbecued steaks, spicy chicken and intensely flavoured pasta dishes.

Nederburg The Motorcycle Marvel

Dark, intense red. An abundance of sweet spice, berries, dates and a hint of tobacco leaf. A rich and intense, full-bodied explosion of red fruit flavours with ripe and silky tannins, and excellent integration of fruit and wood with a hint of spice

Pairs With

Excellent on its own or served with simply flavoured red meat, game and duck dishes.

Alto Cabernet Sauvignon

Dark ruby red. Lead pencil shavings, crushed red fruit and a hint of chocolate dominates the nose. Elegant red fruit flavours on the palate, backed-up by soft, elegant tannins.

Pairs With

Meat, grilled, roasted, braised or stewed. They are also perfect paired with a wide variety of soft and hard cheese.

Lourens Family Vineyards Howard John

43% Cinsault, 43% Carignan, 14% Grenache.

No yeast, acid, enzymes or fining agents added. Wine was matured for 9 months in old French barrels. 100% whole bunch fermented.

Notes of lavender, marzipan, sweet red peppercorns but also violets and dried coriander seeds. While all very floral and lifted, there are also deeper, darker savoury notes of bresaola, cured meats, and red cherry spice. The palate is beautifully balanced and fresh, but shows impressive concentration of flavour. There are layers of sweet pithy red cherries, wild strawberry, sweet peppercorns, and raspberry ripple and the finish is rather enticing with pink stick candy and strawberry bon bons.

Niel Joubert Sauvignon Blanc

Delicate aromas with fresh grass cuttings, hints of lime and nettle.Lively, fruit filled flavours lifted by crisp acidity. Some developing fruit with zesty attraction. Dry, crisp, finish.

Fish and Chips, Pork, Goats cheese

Barton Chenin Blanc

Intense wood aroma with a hint of woodspice. Crisp with moderate acidity and good balance. Honey and pineapple notes accompany light wood tannins and a long finish.

Chenin Blanc/Roussanne

A juicy, surprisingly complex wine with intense flavours and aromas of citrus and stone fruit.

Pairs With

Excellent on its own or served with simply- flavoured red meat, game and duck dishes.

Alto Rouge

Cabernet Franc (28%) Shiraz (23%) Merlot (22%) Cabernet Sauvignon (21%) and Petit Verdot (6%)

Dark ruby red. Lead pencil shavings, crushed red fruit and a hint of chocolate dominates the nose. Elegant red fruit flavours on the palate, backed-up by soft, elegant tannins. A stylish princely wine with lovely age.

Beef or lamb.

Horse Mountain Michele

A fruit driven blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot and 3% Cabernet Franc.

Plums and raspberry with hints of dark/mint chocolate. This wine has an elegant structure making it approachable and ready to drink. A wine for all occasions.

Painted Wolf The Den Cabernet Sauvignon

A classy medium to full-bodied wine with typical Cab flavours of black currant, brambly fruit, cigar box augmented by toasty oak. The wine has a lovely rich mid-mouth texture, a long, fruit-driven finish with fresh acid and ripe tannins.
